Common Instructions for CBSE Practical Exam Class 12
The Practical Examinations, Projects, and Internal Assessments must be conducted strictly following the details and guidelines provided on the Board’s academic website. Please refer to the website: [https://cbseacademic.nic.in >> Curriculum](https://cbseacademic.nic.in >> Curriculum).
- For regular students registered through the LOC for Class XII, Practical Examinations, Projects, and Internal Assessments will be conducted at the school, based on the student’s eligibility and bonafide status.
- External Examiners will be appointed by the Board in each school to conduct the Practical Examinations and Project Assessments.
- The school authorities are not allowed to make alternative arrangements for conducting practical examinations or project assessments at the local level. These exams can only be conducted by an examiner appointed by the Board.
- The Board may appoint Observer(s) in schools to supervise the Practical Examinations and Project Assessments, ensuring that the examinations/assessments are conducted fairly. Schools should contact the relevant Regional Office to obtain the list of Observer(s).
- The school must ensure that External Examiners and Observers are present on all days of the Practical Examinations, Projects, and Assessments, as per the Board’s appointments. Under no circumstances should the Practical or Project examinations be conducted without the presence of an External Examiner appointed by the Board.
- There will be both an External Examiner and an Internal Examiner, as per the policy for Practical Examinations and Project Assessments. The school must appoint an Internal Examiner with sufficient experience and expertise in the relevant subjects. The School Principal will issue an order for the appointment of the Internal Examiner, including complete details of the examiner’s duties and responsibilities.
- The school may create batches of 30 students for each subject. The practical/project assessments for these batches should be conducted together to ensure better management and efficient uploading of marks.
- Batches should only be formed after receiving the details of external examiners from CBSE, and only after confirming the availability of the external examiner and observer (if appointed by the Board) for conducting the practical/project assessment on a specific date.
- The details of the external examiners will be locked in the system, and the assessment must be conducted by these assigned examiners.
- Schools may consider dividing the group of 30 students into two sub-groups of 15 students each. One sub-group can attend the lab work while the other does pen and paperwork, and then they can switch. However, the practical/project assessment for the entire group of 30 students must be completed on the same day, and the marks for the entire batch/group should be uploaded together.
- The Attendance Sheets for students appearing in the practical examination must be accurately filled out using the proforma provided to each school by the relevant Regional Office.
